How Can I Use Headphones in the Computer Labs?

Though speakers are not included on the computers in CETS labs, a user may still hear sound by bringing in headphones. The headphone jack is located on the front of the computer by gently lifting the spoon-shaped gray door on the front of the case. The headphone jack is marked by a small picture of a set of headphones.

Once the headphones are plugged in, you may adjust the volume by double-clicking the "volume" icon on the Windows taskbar (denoted by a small picture of a speaker in the lower right-hand corner of the screen). Adjust the volume using the appropriate sliders in this menu, and make sure the device you are trying to use (usually "wave out") is not muted.
